Cougars maul the QUTies
Haha, I'm getting the hang of this title stuff.
First of all, well done to everyone for tonight's game (for interested readers, we went down by 1). Our flow in attack is quite impressive, and the points we scored came about as a result of good, hard running. Special mention tonight to James and Michael for their hard running. Kudos to Matt and Stef for coming to support the team, even though they were on their death bed.
So I don't overload you, let's take two things out of tonight's game to improve on:
Attack: As John said, be confident in your cuts. There were too many hesitant cuts, where we would take 3 steps forward, and then decide that we couldn't get the disc. Keep running, and you'll beat your man.
Defence: We will need to work on this on the weekend. If we are running a fence (and hot tip, we normally are because I like having someone on the mark), then the other 3 people are in a line sloping slightly upfield the way that the mark is forcing. There were quite a few double teams tonight.
In other news, Dean has lost a leg, so he should be out for 1 week, and I have had to have my hand amputated. We have an impressive injured list at the moment:
Dean- dodgy knee
Stef- Breast implant recovery
Matt- dodgy knee (same as Dean, they were doing something weird in bed together, so they have the same injury)
Ben- Dodgy wrist (probably the most serious of the lot, but I battled on regardless. The Courier Mail has called it 'The most inspirational moment in sport').
As always, read and comment.
P.S. After many complaints, I feel that I should report that we won our last game 10-6. I was busy during the week guys, geez.
James says:
Well apologies first and foremost from myself, because lets be honest I’m still not 100% sure of what a good individual Frisbee performance is, but i did my best to display the opposite. Especially in front of Sam who would have scored at least a million (not an exaggeration, I kept count) had I not been making the exact same cuts, albeit slower and more in the way.
One of those nights. On a positive note, in every point pretty much everyone touched the disc. and as I said to Ben (he may claim he said this, that is a lie) other teams cant do it. I believe this to be a chauvinistic display of poor below awesome frisbee.
I’m not sure how to put photos up here, it might be a facebook task, but from what I can see we have enough images to put together a lovely montage to keep Ben warm on those cold and lonely Canadian nights. And for the record ‘Cougars prey on young, innocent Quties’ is a better title.
Jangles says:
if you give me the photos i can put them up. that or i redo the site which is on my list of things to do while i am injured.
